MTSC during Level 2 (12 May 2020)

As we move into Level 2 Covid-19 restrictions, the committee strongly encourages all of our members to act and remain safe. Social distancing is still required, which will affect the way we travel to activities and interact with others while in the hills. The club minibus is not available for use until further notice and this will be reviewed again at the June committee meeting.

Manawatu Lodge at Mt Ruapehu is also not available at this time. Again, the committee will be looking at how the lodge may be operated in a safe and responsible manner.

We can get back out into the backcountry again! (12 May 2020)

Doc-administered visitor centres, huts, campgrounds and toilets are open again, but with special guidelines for their use. It’s important visitors take responsibility for their own COVID-19 hygiene and cleaning requirements, says DoC.

Message from MTSC President (23 March 2020)

In light of the recent developments, MTSC are cancelling all club nights, and club trips advertised on the trip card for the foreseeable future, including work parties.

It's important to look out for one another in times of need, and if we can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact anyone on the committee should you require it.

Updates on the current situation can be obtained directly from https://covid19.govt.nz. We will continue to update the club via Facebook / Beechleaves as more information comes to hand.

It's important for all of us to follow MOH guidelines at this time.
